As a former Spanish and ESOL teacher in London, Sarah worked with pupils from diverse backgrounds and her favourite role was within refugee integration. Now Sarah works with refugee adults on a voluntary basis, to try and provide a welcoming environment for people who have ended up in Switzerland through circumstances out of their control.

When she’s not on the road Sarah runs weekly English workshops in Aarau, encouraging people to get together whatever their English level, and also helps with tips and tricks for life in Switzerland.

If you would like to get involved with voluntary English or German teaching to help make this a more stable and regular set up, please get in touch! We are connected with the AIA in Aarau, and use the facilities provided by them for our lessons.

INTEGRATION AARGAU

If you are a refugee, or a foreigner living in Aargau who would like to come to the workshops, we look forward to meeting you! Keep an eye on the calendar to see when they are on.

As Sarah knows from first-hand experience, integration and settling in a new country is better with companions! The garden concerts started as a catalyst for getting people together, and there is always an opportunity to pay the entrance fee for a refugee student. If you are interested in going this for any Wettingen or Baden gigs, even if you can’t personally be there, please get in touch!

We are also keen to host refugee musicians and can provide all necessary equipment.
